Private use
The licensee receives a simple, non-transferable right, unlimited in time and territory, to use the images listed for private, non-commercial purposes.
Permitted: prints and photo products for personal use (including via print service providers), private photo albums, sharing with family and friends, publication on private social media profiles and private websites.
Not permitted: any commercial use (advertising, company presentations, sale, competitions involving a transfer of rights), passing on to third parties for commercial use, edits that distort the character of the images, and removing copyright notices.
When publishing, the author must be credited where this is customary and possible (§ 13 UrhG).
Commercial use
Only if explicitly chosen at purchase (with surcharge).
The licensee receives a simple, non-transferable right, unlimited in time and territory, to use the images listed for their own commercial purposes – including private use.
Permitted: the licensee’s website, online shop and social media channels, advertising and print materials, press work, presentations; customary adjustments such as cropping and resizing.
Not permitted: sublicensing or passing on the usage rights to third parties, selling the images as such (e.g. as stock photos or print templates for resale), use in trademarks or logos, use in a context that disparages the persons depicted.
The rights of persons depicted (right to one’s own image) are not covered by this licence; for advertising use, the licensee must secure them themselves unless the persons have given their release.
The author must be credited where this is customary and possible (§ 13 UrhG).
